Hey Shepherd I have only met a few famous people a few of the Kenndys an I know by doing our family tree I am related to Madonna an celine dion an the dionne quints on my mom side an Daniel boone an my hubby's side but no i don't name drop lol I dont know them so why bother my grandma met Celine once an she sang power of love to my nana in vagas which I thought was cool
I listen to different music and love to listen Hip hop,Rock,POP,Rap,Filmy, classic. Basically I listen more to pop then anything else in case of English. Going to local langauge HIndi, I listen to Classical and filmy as well. I even like to listen Carnatic music, slokas and raagas as well. My music love is endless I listen to various forms and naming here each and everyone is tough for me. I will name the Pop section in English, I had also all the hits of Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Michael Bolton, G Michael, J Lopez, Destiny Child, Madonna, etc. My favorite album is Wham. Bryan Adams is my favorite singer and I have also all his albums with me. Like this I my great fan of A R Rehman, famous singer and music director. I have almost all his songs with me.. The list goes on and on.. So, I will end here
Hmm, up to now, I don't see anybody as groundbreaking as he is. He started his career in such a young age, which hard to be matched by anyone in the industry. Also, I personally think there will be no MJ in music industry, same like there will be no Elvis, Bob Marley, Madonna Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston or for current generation Justin Timberlake, Christina, Britney. Every superstar has its own style and singing which distinguished them from other the other one.
I felt bad for him. I did not cry. I felt sadder for Farrah Fawcett because she was sick. Have I cried for any celebrity who passed away? I have not. But I am not sure of the future. I may. I am afraid of the day Madonna leaves us.
I'll be happy if I can exercise 3 times a week!!! How many times per day? Once will be good enough. Unless we are Madonna, we dont need to work out 5 times per day! I'll stick to three times per week..:)
My favorite tune from the 1980s is 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson. It has excellent singing, beat and spooky noises that are relevant. I also really like 'Billie Jean' and 'Beat It'. I quite like 'Holiday' and 'Lucky Star' by Madonna. I went to a Madonna concert in the late 1980s.
I think there are quite a number of songs with names of colors in their titles. There's Purple Rain by Prince, Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix (I think), Black or White by Michael Jackson, Blue Suede Shoes by Elvis Presley, Brown Eyes by Destiny's Child, True Blue by Madonna, to name a few. You'll be surprised at how long the list of songs with names of colors in their titles is.[em]happy[/em]
I WAS fit and healthy - till my world fell apart.
I WAS a well paid fitness instructor - till my health fell apart. Before that, I had muscles that'd make Madonna weep with envy. Well, sort of. Under the flab anyway. My previous job ...don't even go there. When I was working at that place, keyboards were things attached to grand pianos.Point being: I'm well qualified, but have been struggling along on benefits for a while. At a very late stage (51) I find I'm good at something - journalism. But here am I, 50 plus (I've got the Saga car insurance to prove it) about to kick off a career most people start when they're 18. I need a qualification - otherwise, I don't get the work. There IS a journalism course - and it's accredited by the learning and skills council. But - tra dah - it costs £4000. Will the government give me the money I need to train, so I can get off the dole?...
I agree that it is bubblegum programming just something entertaining, not a lot of nutritional content... but if it encourages more people (esp kids) to actually get up and dance maybe we'll be a fitter and happier nation! We go through cycles like this, I remember dance being HUGE around the Fame/Flashdance era, and everyone I knew growing up in dance wanted to be Madonna or Janet Jackson.so i like it very mich.
"You're going to see anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood and here's how they do it. They use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets, they use Alaska as a fundraising tool for their anti-second amendment causes." Well I don't need to tell you about the anti-hunting obviously, but are you so anti-Palin that you can't even acknowledge the anti-second ammendment celebrities? Here are a few that clearly match Palin's description:Krista Allen, Drew Barrymore, Christie Brinkley, Kim Cattrall, Sheryl Crow, Rebecca DeMornay, Fran Drescher, Mia Farrow, Madonna, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones. The list goes on pretty long if you want to read it.
http://gunowners.org/fs0302.htmSeriously Annie, what EXACTLY did she make up?
I love the song crazy by Madonna. I have sang to it and danced to it like a million times. I love that song so much.
Is that your favorite song by Madonna too and do you dance or sing to it?
I definitely prefer the old Madonna. Right now I'm listening to The Immaculate Collection. Her songs from the 80s and early 90s. I just like the songs better. I respect her for reinventing herself continuously over the years but I think now she should slow down a bit. I mean, the whole Madonna on the cross thing on her last tour was just tacky and to me it was a blatant attempt to stay 'fresh' and 'edgy' like she used to be. However, I think she has created so much fantastic music over the years and I'll always love her old stuff. What do you think?
I just watched an episode of Will and Grace tonight. I don't usually but the person I work for does, and my job is to do what the person works for wants.Madonna was on.Some of her lines were very funny and she definitely has a great sense of humor about herself and her past etc....She has really matured beautifully since her "A certain Sacrifice/Sex book" days. I admire her and feel closer to her as a person the last few years..She makes great music still, but she has really proven her humanity. Her children's book amazing and she has also really improved her social skills and how she speaks etc.I thought for sure that because o this she would have noticed and realized that thing she does with her eyes and worked on changing it.Maybe she is but the progress is slow..You know, that eye thing where she blinks a lot and looks upward more often then your regular joe/jane.She still does...
hey people i wanna know your opinions on cover songs.. which ones to you think are better than the original? which ones do you think were horrible?
i have to say im not usually a big fan of cover music.. but sometimes a cover song is better.. for example..
last kiss.. originally by wayne cochran.. he doesnt have the proper emotion in his voice to sing this song.. he almost sounds happy about it.. where as pearl jam did a cover of this song which i think is 50 times better.. the voice and emotion of that voice sound much more fitting for the song.. tainted love is another i would rather the cover song (done by marilyn manson) because the sound is more fitting to the song.. an example of a cover song i dont like would be madonna's version of american pie..
i like the 80s and early 90s madonna better then the late 90s and current madonna (as far as music goes). i just cannot deciede which track is the best. what do you think?
Well when I say overrated, I mean singers or bands that people actually thought were good, or even iconic. Britney Spears does not count, obviously. I guess my answer would be Madonna. She is known for being outrageous, but I don't think her voice is any good, and don't find much appealing about her or her career. So what do you think? Who is the most overrated singer or band? And please remember, this is just a discussion. It's OK to disagree with another poster, just keep it at least somewhat pleasant.: )
I just watched Madonna Confession Tour on DVD... and it was terrific. She is an extraordinary woman who keep re-inventing herself. Probably the hardest working woman in show-business.
At 49... she looks fantastic... simply because she works hard at it. She does a lot of exercise to keep fit.As for her song "hung up"... I cannot get it out of my head. laugh. It is an old Abba song which she re-worked... and sold 9 million copies of... almost a record for a single. Also saw "Wild Angel"... a short story of her extraordinary life. So... what do you think about Madonna?
