Mariah Carey's a good singer, but I feel that she brags about her vocal range too much. What I mean is, nearly every song she sings, there's at least one time where she shows off her D-above-the-staff (maybe it's an E or higher, I don't know, but you get the point), and it drives me up the wall. Sarah Brightman doesn't even do that, and she is--in my opinion, at least--more qualified to show off her voice. So yeah...it's Madonna for me.
In terms of music (not personality) it's Madonna all the way. I'm just really not into the bubble gum music Mariah sings where every song she sings is either about how hot she is (seriously, the opening line in her newest song is "why are you so obsessed with me?") or her songs have cliche lyrics about the struggles of young love, and boys, and dating, and blah blah blah. I think my main problem with Mariah's music is that it's just too common. It's the same as so many other singers. Madonna, on the other hand, is impossible to duplicate. Truly unique.Personality wise? Neither. Lol, they're both a little "look at how awesome I am" in their personalities, and I don't like that attitude on anyone, celebrity or not.
hello starlight!
well i appreciate Madonna's songs and like her voice and her performance in concerts...
her songs that i like the most are:1. like a prayer
2. you're my angel
3. borderline
4. like a virgin
5. papa don't preachand many more! coz i also like frozen and material girl! i think most of her songs are really nice, its just that i can't remember the title of the other songs!
have a nice day![em]happy[/em]
She dresses like teenagers? Hm.. and those who buy the same designs as she is wearing are also those who dress like teenagers? I don't buy the idea that Madonna dresses like a teenager. What she wears is fine.I think the issue is why we think those who are old must conform to a certain standard of dressing. I mean, what should a 50 year dressed up as? Heard of Tina Turner? She wears mini-skirts. Why? Because she has the best legs in the industry. And those who want to feel good, should wear what they can. Age should not be a factor.Madonna still wows. She has more no.1 records in UK than any other female artists. And she can still produce no.1's in UK. As well as Top 10's in USA. Her concerts made her the top earning artist last year, according to Billboard. So, yes. She wow-ed, and still wows.
Of course you can, my favorite singer is Madonna during the 80's I adore her and loved her songs way back til the present. In bands my favorite was Metallica a heavy metal band in the 80's as well but still here. There are lots of good singers I like nowadays like there's Evanescence with Amy Lee in the vocals. Her voice simply lifts me up. It's very nice. There are loads I would have named here but I guess I'll give you this for now. Who's your favorite?
I think the reason there are so many love songs is because it is the one thing, regardless who you are, what you look like, or where you are from that everyone has in common. My top 10 Love related songs...ugh...this is hard:
Love is Noise by The Verve
Was it a Dream? by 30 Seconds to Mars
Degausser by Brand New
Here With Me by Dido
Just Like Heaven by The Cure
Frozen by Madonna
Love Hurts by Incubus
Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls
Sweet Surrender by Sarah McLauchlan
Anywhere by Evanescence
Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics.
Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler.
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham.
Like A Virgin by Madonna.
Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper.
She Works Hard for the Money by Donna Summer.
[em]happy[/em] I love listening to my favorites over and over but I am also starting to listen to new music or songs that I had not listened to before. I will have some new music to listen to over and over again.lol I do love Madonna's music but haven't listened to the tracks that you mentioned here.
intelligent people are more likely to wait for the ideal situation, probably why the American divorce rate is so high...and a special LOL to the person who listed Madonna as one of the highly intelligent people who were married...that might be the funniest thing I've seen in quite some time...most "true love" people are actually just co-dependent and cant stand being alone, those with higher intelligence are often ok with not relying on other people to make them happy
Madonna should stop singing in my opinion, as she is undoing all the good music she was known for, such as Material Girl, isla Bonita, and Holiday, with these dreadful tuneless songs she shouts out nowadays.
Both of them are great singers! I really admired the way they sing their songs and of course their songs! They used to have a tight competition because they were just lovable and their music will really make you feel dancing. However, Madonna has a great strategy, to transform her image into a sexy artist. That is why Madonna had able to surpass Cyndi Lauper.
Madonna is arguably the queen of pop music, and dance. What are your three favorite Madonna songs of all time (I know these change every few years)? Three of my favorite Madonna songs are: "Live to Tell," "Frozen," and "Hung Up." What are yours?
