We've never had anyone look at our house as a prospective buyer. But, back in 1991 when my husband was transferred on his job to Nashville, we had our house appraised by two appraisers. They were those chosen by the company since the company would have bought our home. We weren't in the market to sell, just taking advantage of the appraisals to see what our house was worth. Well, they gave us a low estimate considering who was buying the house and they knew it. Well, we weren't interested, but I would have liked to have slapped the woman who came. Yes, the other one was a man and a much better appraiser and he was friendly. The woman had the audacity to tell us we hadn't taken care of our home!THAT was a slap in the face, considering it looked new! She made several hateful remarks, and I was getting very angry but holding my tongue. BUT she got it once she left our premises! And, to...
Hey Flowfire!I'm not in school any more. In fact, I haven't been in school since 1995. I listen to music a lot but when I was younger, I didn't listen to music while studying. It was hard for me to concentrate while listening to music. When I went back to school in 1991, I would listen to music while studying. Sometimes I would take my notebook to the gym and study while exercising. There was always a lot of music going there, lol.
I think I was in Alabang on my aunties house lying in the bed or sleeping or sipping the bottle of milk... I think it was 1991 when it erupts, more or less two years since i was born:D
But that eruption was really devastating and the most largest on 90's.
i know i should have got this done but the last smear i had was 1991, then last year i had a routine check and found out i had vulval cancer which scared the life out of me, my pap smear test came back fine, but i really should have got this test done many years ago, i hate having it done, it's uncomfortable and it's embarrassing, but i am glad i went for that test otherwise they would never have found the cancer, luckily i had surgery to remove it and all is fine now, but it could have got worse if i had not have gone, so i am glad i did, last month i had another pap smear and am waiting on results, but the whole proceedure is horrible, it's personal and i hate going for these tests but since jade goody died of cervical smear this has made alot of women aware so it's a good thing really...jade goody was a reality tv contestant who became very famous after being in the big brother...
"Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert A. Heinlein. It tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, a human raised by Martians on the planet Mars, upon his return to Earth in early adulthood. The novel explores his interaction with — and eventual transformation of — Earth culture. The novel's title refers to the Biblical Book of Exodus.[1] According to Heinlein in Grumbles from the Grave, the novel's working title was The Heretic. Several later editions of the book have promoted it as "The most famous Science Fiction Novel ever written."[2]When Heinlein first wrote Stranger in a Strange Land, his editors at Putnam required him to drastically cut its original 220,000-word length, and to remove some scenes that might have been considered too shocking at the time. The resulting edited version was about 160,000 words. In 1962 this version received the Hugo Award for the Best Science...
Few would disagree that, to a certain extent, money brings happiness. But according to researchers at University of California, Berkeley, once enough is earned to meet basic needs, money in relation to happiness is a very personal equation. In fact, employees who are primarily motivated by the love of their work become less happy the more money they make.Psychology PhD candidate Ariel Malka and Haas School of Business professor Jennifer Chatman posed the question: Does the effect that money has on happiness differ between individuals? Specifically, depending upon work values, does one's level of income impact his or her feelings about life? Malka and Chatman's findings are published in the June issue of the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. They conducted a study using a sample of 124 UC Berkeley MBA graduates who participated in an MBA Assessment Project conducted by...
The downturn in my local economy is affecting me quite a lot. For a start a some of the shops in my local high street have closed. I had a bad shock when Woolworths closed in my home country. I notice that many shops have sales on and so when I pay for something I must get in that moment. Some pregnant friends of mine paid for baby equipment and then that business went down. So they are having bother getting their money back. My top hobby is traveling and sadly I have heard about my airlines going down. When I booked my flight to South Africa I made sure that I got travel insurance that would cover me if the airline went out of business. Jobs are very hard to come by at the moment and some friends of mine have been made redundant. I feel sorry for them remembering that happened to me in 1991. Fuel prices are high and so bus fares have gone up on the orange buses from one pound to one...
Well as you very well know how divided our society is and different communities have different level of acceptance of new things like when the population of India exploded and we had so much land as compared to people and we wanted to implement birth control measures, u know the most backward communities opposed it most, same way with Govt pulse polio program. But u can not say Indian dont take up change. Some take it very fast like the economic liberalization in 1991. though there were some resistance by some people with their own interest being harmed like trade unions who were getting pay without work or the factory owners who would sell us any dam thing as competition was not allowed and we Indians were first of the countries to force paperless trading of shares in share market. but since level of education is not so much here so illiteracy and orthodoxy donot allow people to open...
