ah yes just last week I live in a retirement center and we go off on shopping trips weekly in our mini van, six of us. this one old 'man is wheel chair bound,he cannot walk but a few feet. well we went to Walmart. hi pikefish the appearance of an assistant doesnt bother me,as I look pretty darned good for an elderly lady.ha. no what puts 'me off is the assistant who practically breaths in your face and steps on your feet, and keeps asking,can I help you? and looks at you like you were going to steal something. I always say no I' am fine, I am just looking as I really am not sure what I want.' then she bumps into me almost, grrr,and, oh I can help you and I am thinking dont breath on me,get back,and I say no take care of the others, I really will come to you if I need help.she leaves, very reluctantly. a lot of times this so tees me off I go to another shop where I am left to browse on my own without the gestopa breathing down my neck.

Let the children pay for their own fault

I think that children should be taught at a very young age to take responsibility for their actions. When they are young, an apology is normally sufficient. As they get older, there needs to be more depending on the circumstances. For example, my 5 year old step-son stomped on my daughter's toes a few weeks ago. Of course, she cried, and it hurt her. I made him apologize, and explained to him that he doesn't like it when someone hurts him, he should not hurt others. He is a soft hearted little guy, and just those words and having to apologize were enough. He understood. Now, last summer, when my oldest was 11, he, along with my other two, ages 7, and 6 at the time, were throwing rocks and bricks over a fence into a lady's yard. She was very upset, even though they didn't actually hurt anything. So, in that instance, they all had to not only apologze, but also pick up all that they had...

How to help an old lady?

There is a lady who lives on our street. She is 81 years old and lives alone. She doesnt have any children and never married. She lives in a small apartment by herself. I saw her always alone and befriended her if I can call it that as she is almost 50 years my senior. I mean I went out with her to the park a few times/she likes to go out/, I go to see her to see if she is ok and invited her to my home. This lady is lovely/character/, but I doubt I ever saw anyone so dirty. Her coat is black/used to be blue/, her blouse is grey instead of white, her skirt is so torn. I did make two skirts for her hoping she will wear them but she never did prefers her old skirt.
