Is Windows 7 Going To Be another Vista?

I jsut got a new computer with windows 7 hooked up. Right away there is a problem. It seems windows 7 is not compatible with third party software used to access & edit ftp space. Wasn't compatiblity on this issue a problem with Vista? So Microsoft straightened out a problem and then brought it right back? Anybody out there with windows 7 having this or other problems. Any advice would be appreciated.

A week after getting a new Dell computer, my camera went. Can't complain about that camera too much. Already I miss it. It was an Olympus Comedia and I bought it in 1998. With only 1.3 mega pixels. it took decent pictures right to the end.Anyway the new camera (also an Olympus) is the size of a pack of cigarettes. Why do they make them so small? Even with small hands and thin fingers, I feel like an elephant opening a peanut with his hooves every time I touch the thing. Downloading LOTS

Over the next few weeks, I'll be downloading a large volume of stuff, via FTP. However, the files equate to seven months of our bandwidth, so I don't really want to download it. We don't get capped, we just get charged more if we go over our limit. Does anyone have any methods I could use to download these files without using too much of my own bandwidth? I'm already planning to ask a few friends to help with the downloading, I'm going to cap my download speed to a few kb/s so that it doesn't download too much, and maybe go to a few internet cafe's. Can anyone think of some other methods?

Hello friends.While taking my mini project during my graduation period, I had one thought in my mind that today the most widely used internet protocols are "http" and "ftp", but both of them had their own disadvantages and trade between speed and accuracy is always there. Why not can I develop a new protocol system for internet which have the advantages of both and reduces both their disadvantages. I searched through different books on how to design a new protocol, but could not get such a book neither could find it in 'google'.So, can anybody here please help me out on some books and links for how to develop a new protocol system???
