Hi myLotters! This is more of a B*#$h session than a discussion. About a week ago, I found out that I was going to have new neighbors. The house next to me is in major disrepair and should be torn down. Instead it was bought. The house needs new plumbing, new electric and just about new everything. The water lines are busted. Someone broke into it and stoled the furnace and the hot water heater. It's in terrible shape. Nevertheless, it was bought by three families who don't speak english. This in itself erks me. If you come to our country, you should learn to speak our language. Anyway, they started to work on the house this week. At first I was happy but then, situations and circumstances started to happen. For instance, I came home and my neighbors were cleaning their windows. "Good," I thought. Later that night I kept hearing water running and I had no pressure. I went outside and...

Well, I've been in Gran Canaria. More particulary in the area of Playa del Ingles. But also visited other points in the island such as Maspalomas and the capital. I was to go to Tenerife for this country, but we aborted the plans at the last minute, unfortunetly. How about you?

que tal solo me di cuenta que pues si hay varias personas que sabe hablar español por que es su lengua madre o porque sabe hablarlo porque seguir hablando en ingles, claro que es util, pero podemos hablar tal vez un poco en español no siempre en ingles, tal vez de esta manera mylot se pueda expandir mas dado a que asi mas gente que no ncesariamente habla ingles pueda entrar y de la mism amanera aumentar esta gran comunidad, que les parece?cuenteme de donde son:D, soy de Perú

i am a second genearation immigrant in u.k..fourth generation british..due to colonial past etc.. this is my argument.. i am at the moment staying in the latin quarter of manhattan..i often go into a shop looking for something and i get frustrated that not one shop keeper or worker can speak a word of english.. no pablo ingles..no pablo ingles.. for heaven's sake man i am not in the dominican republic..i am in new york..jeeeeze.. i know spanish is a lovely language and i am learning to sing la tortura.,but when i see all the immigrants here marching for their rights and to get legal status and all the same rights as the immigrants before them..shouldn't they at least try to put something back by learning the lingua franca of the country they are residing in? my dad speaks fluent english..my mum understands everything and can get by in decent conversations..and she didn't even finish...
